Settings will not stay once I exit Spoybot

I had to uninstall Spybot and re-install it. Now, after I make to changes to the settings and exit, when I restart Spybot, the settings have reverted back to the base settings. How do I get the settings to stay as I've set them?

What version of Spybot - Search & Destroy are you running (Spybot » Help » About)?

What settings are not being saved?

What Windows OS are you running?

Do you use multiple user accounts? If so, is the user account where the settings are not being saved the same user account that you installed Spybot with?

I am using Spybot version 1.6.0.31 in the "Expert" mode and using Win XP Pro



The settings that are not being saved are in the "Web Update" section:
Search the web for new version each time program starts
Display available beta versions
Display new and updated skins
