Had the same problem. Also, check your Task Manager, is IE running in the background, loading ads? Apparently this thing surfaced sunday.

I ended up getting rid of it by restoring my computer to an image from a month ago. Then, I had to use a windows boot cd and run fixmbr (or in windows 7, bootrec.exe /fixmbr) to get IE to stop loading upon startup.

If you don't have a system image from earlier, perhaps a system restore point will work. Also, try stopping loader.exe and smss.exe in task manager and deleting them from the temp folder if you can't do a restore point. Regardless, you'll have to to the fixmbr thing.

Good luck. I think a lot of people are going to start having this problem...
