Spybot 2.0 ????

Hello there, forum members!

I would like to ask that will Spybot v2.0 support passive protection for Chrome also, just like with other common browsers? The lack of this feature is the main reason that I'm not using it.
However, I couldn't find any specific info about this, so I thought it would be the best if I ask about this here.
Anyway, can't wait for the new version to be released. I hope it will run smootly on WinXP x64 just like the latest official release, because I would like to use this type of OS for some more time. I can offer my help for testing if it's neccessary for this.
Looking forward to your reply! Keep up the good work!

Hello,

I am sorry, but Chrome is only being supported in scanning and fixing at the moment.
It is a very new browser and chrome itself does not offer any interface for immunizing yet.

Best regards

To add to Sandra's very informative reply, Google Chrome does offer some form of protection from its 'Safe Browsing' feature.
You can read more about it here. Of course, in an ideal world Chrome immunisation would be brilliant. :p:

Pabloino - closed testing means that only a small group of hand picked people get to try out the alpha version of the new spybot. Once it becomes a public beta then people like you and me will be able to use it. We just have to wait for them to finish this stage of the testing first.

Thanks for the clarification. Then I wait for the Beta version of Spybot 2.0. :thanks:

Most of size is taken by detection rules which are included in setup and by some new n' old features...

Spybot 2.0 going public..

C'mon people, we want s&d 2.0; alpha, beta, final; we don't care
I'd love to install it..

I have a question: during the beta release of Spybot 2.0, we must begin to make the translations into other languages? Because I am interested in translating the new version into Spanish language.

Regards and Thanks ;)

the current spybot supports many different languages. Just click language at the top of the window

Sure, we know, but I was saying that when the first beta of Spybot 2.0 is released, i help translate the new version of Spybot in Spanish language.

Best regards.

Pabloino: I think they already have some Spanish translators working on that.
I'd be surpised if they would actually let anyone else on the translation of the software other than the group they already have.

Spybot 2.0

What is ETA for Spybot 2.0 release?
How do I download the alpha of Spybot 2.0 so i can try?
As i do not have permission to access the page. Please help.

The alpha version of Spybot 2.0 is private only high level people can use this, we have to wait for the public beta to try it. As we all would like to try it but all we can do is sit patiently and wait for them to finish, and the ETA I think is now around a few months depending on have progress is going.

On the main page the following has been stated:
"Updating the help file for 2.0, we created a list of browers currently supported (for immunization and restricted access shortcuts) by Spybot - Search & Destroy, which we want to share with you."

Chrome and Chrome (or Chromium - as you stated) based browsers are listed too. Does this mean that you could finally manage to add this type of browsers to the immunization list in the upcomming versions? I've asked about this before, and Sandra told me that it cannot be accomplished. So, what's the real deal?

Anyway, can't hardly wait for the v2.0. Hope it'll be released soon. Keep up the good work!

Chrome will be supported, but only by extension (like for IE SDHelper addon, there will be Chrome SDHelper extension) and probably usage tracks and cookies.
