Spybot Anti-Beacon for Windows 10

SpyBot AntiBeacon

Is it possible move this thread to a new section for SpyBot AntiBeacon?

Also is there a manual anywhere that would give the commandline options for the latest version of AntiBeacon?

SpyBot AntiBeacon Manual

Found the manual

Didn't find any help with command line options. In previous versions it gave some parameters that I added to a Windows task so that Spybot Anti-Beacon was run in a way regularly to apply changes in the background without me having to think about it.

Do these still exist?
Blessings

I am using the free version. Do I need to launch Spybot Anti-Beacon every time I turn on the PC. Does it run in the background or do I need to leave it open?

Add CCleaner 'phone home' sites?

Just a suggestion.

CCleaner is increasingly frowned upon because it 'phones home' even when explicitly told not to. See here.

Maybe you can add rules to SpyBot Beacon to block the following sites:
ip-info.ff.avast.com
shepherd.sb.avast.com
analytics.ff.avast.com

Add 'Assissin's Creed' 'phone home' sites

Just another suggestion.

'Assassin's Creed' may try to connect to Ubisoft servers, which could be down, resulting in choppy audio in-game and freezing.

Maybe you can add rules to SpyBot Beacon to block the following addresses/sites:
216.98.48.53
216.98.48.18
216.98.48.57
216.98.48.133
216.98.48.134

ubisoft-orbit.s3.amazonaws.com
onlineconfigservice.ubi.com
ubisoft-orbit-savegames.s3.amazonaws.com
uat-onlineconfigservice.ubi.com
wsuplay.ubi.com
static8.cdn.ubi.com
gconnect.ubi.com
activation.acronis.com

Add NVIDIA telemetry

Just another suggestion.

You might want to add NVIDIA telemetry to Spybot Beacon. See here.

Potential additions:
\NvTmMon_{B2FE1952-0186-46C3-BAEC-080AA35AC5B8}
\NvTmRep_{B2FE1952-0186-46C3-BAEC-A80AA35AC5B8}
\NvTmRepOnLogon_{B2FE1952-0186-46C3-BAEC-A80AA35AC5B8}

In the Host file:
# nVidia Telemetry
127.0.0.1 gfwsl.geforce.com
127.0.0.1 gfe.geforce.com
127.0.0.1 telemetry.nvidia.com
127.0.0.1 gfe.nvidia.com
127.0.0.1 telemetry.gfe.nvidia.com
127.0.0.1 events.gfe.nvidia.com

Does spybot anti-beacon disable cortana?

Hi guy's,

I am a game dev disable by severe RSI and i was looking to activate cortana to help me doing dictation in text field but i had spybot anti-beacon install since day one of my windows 10 experience and i think that is probably why it is currently disable.

I don't want to fully expose my data to microsoft either so is there a way to enable only cortana for dictation without completely removing spybot anti-beacon?

Any help would be greatly appreciated since just writing this hurt me a lot.

You should be able to customize what is immunized by antibeacon, and what is not. There's a older youtube video here that explains how to do that. It's older but it should still apply. I'll link to the part where you can customize immunization:
https://youtu.be/X4-F-iKp_ig?list=PL4CZkQArtWf_LvQNYoSh5guinBdZswGS0&t=236

On this anti-beacon page, there is a list of things available to be immunized. I see Microsoft Cortana and Microsoft Cortana restrictions listed there. You could probably try unimmunizing those if they are immunized:
https://www.safer-networking.org/products/spybot-anti-beacon/

I remember having to enable Cortana when I first got my computer, but she wasn't available in my country right away, so I'm unsure if that was standard everywhere. But in case you need to enable her, I found this article here:
https://www.windowscentral.com/how-setup-and-use-cortana-windows-10
And this is to enable hey cortana:

hth. :)

Anti-Beacon Question

Hey,

I'd like to know, do i have to open anti-beacon.exe everytime to take effect? Or does it work always (background) in every later reboot if i once immunize everything i want to, even if i dont see it running on task manager.

If no, i would like to know how i can make it start automatically in every reboot.
If yes, is there someway to test it and see if its running properly.

Thank you.

There is no need to run it permanently, but it might be helpful to check your settings after bigger Windows updates. :)

Best regards,

tashi
