Spybot doesn't open!!!

Hi, I'm new to this forum.
I've been using spybot for the past couple of years, but about two weeks ago, it stopped running. I tried double clicking the icon from the file within Program Files, but its no different than trying to click the shortcut. I don't see any kind of activity in the processes when I try to run spybot. Strangely enough, everything else other than the main program works, including downloading updates, etc.
Please help? I know my computer is heavily infected, I went to some sites which I guess now had many bad links etc.
Also my homepage in firefox *just google.ca* is also infected, so... how do I start cleaning up?
Sorry if i was supposed to post this somewhere else, but I need to get my computer fixed as soon as possible.

Consider posting in the Malware Removal forum and having someone take a look at your system.

If you decide to have an experienced malware removal specialist assist you, please follow the procedure in this link to run scans and produce a HijackThis log:

• "BEFORE you POST"(READ this Procedure BEFORE Requesting Assistance).

After you have completed the required scans and produced the requested logs, start your own thread in the Malware Removal forum, making sure to post the HijackThis log produced from the above instructions.
