Spybot - Error sending request when downloading

Hi,

New to this so please could anyone help. I have downloaded Spybot to a usb pen for installation to my personal pc. However it comes up with ' Error Sending request. The server name or address could not be resolved.' This occurs at the very begining of the installation. Any ideas?
 
What is your OS? What version is Spybot-SD on your PC?

My assumption is that you were attempting to download the updates immediately. There were some problems in the past in which users were downloading updates immediately thus the installation was unable to complete.

My recommendation to you is to NOT download updates immediately. After the installation is complete, then update.
 
Un-tick the "Download updates now" option in the installer and make sure Spybot is cleared for access with your firewall. Read the FAQ for more infomation.

Many thanks. Will give it a try and let you know if I have any problems. The OS is Windows XP by the way.
