Spybot is not finding my hijacker

I was hit by a drive by about 4 weeks ago. I have updated windows (XP), updated and scanned with Norton, adware and spybot. Norton found 3 viruses and got rid of them, but I’m still having major issues.

Here are my symptoms.
My browser is trying to refresh.
Browsers randomly crashing.
Browser takes me to a bizrate.com or shopping.com page when I have clicked on something else entirely.
Computer running very slow causing me to reboot 2-3 times a day.

First question.
Anyone know how I can get rid of this.

Second question.
I have tried to get the latest update from spybot and I keep getting a “bad checksum” error.

Thanks
-Sid

First download the latest updates and rerun another Spybot–S&D scan:
  • "Bad Checksum" problems are usually caused by overloaded download servers.

To change download servers and for a workaround for "Bad Checksum" errors please see:
    http://forums.spybot.info/showpost.php?p=345&postcount=2

Note: The download server can be changed after the "Search for Updates" and before clicking "Download Updates". So if you find a server that works well, you can start by using that server in the future. Also note that if you want (not necessarily recommended) you can select a server and then right click on the button and "Set this server as the preferred download location". If you do that Spybot will select that sever rather than a random server for future updates.

    Additional information:
If Spybot-S&D still fails find/fix the problem, consider requesting assistance in the Malware Removal forum and have one of the helpers there take a look at your system.

To post in the Malware Removal forum follow the instructions here:

One question and meanwhile do follow md usa spybot fan's advice. :)

When you say you updated Windows did you install a Service Pack for the first time ie: Service Pack2. (SP2)

Regards.

I have had SP2 for some time now. I just meant that I have updated it regularly as updates come out.

Ok thank you for clarifying, just wanted to make sure you had not installed it when the System may have had an infection. Cheers. :)
