My spybot will not work anymore. It worked fine for a month or so. I click to run it and the hour glass pops up and quickly goes away. I noticed the small spybot icon-bottom right on task bar has a little padlock on it. What does this mean and how do I unlock it so I can run Spybot. Any ideas? Thanks.

The icon with a padlock in the taskbar is not a "lock", it is Spybot's TeaTimer (Resident Shield).
Rename Spybot's desktop icon. If that doesn't work read this thread:

Yes. The .scr (works like a .exe) is a hidden protected system file.

Which Anti-Malware tools did you run beside Spybot ? We can give you some suggestions if you need them.
Furthermore, you should run Spybot in safe mode too.

I, too, cannot actually launch the main S&D console. I can only right-click on the system tray icon and when I click on "Run S&D" I just get the hour glass icon. I've tried removing the malware that I have (trojan:winnt/alureon.c, virtool:win32/obfuscator.dq, and trojan downloader zlob) using SmitFraudFix and Windows Live Care. I've tried using AVG 8.5 but that didn't do much and Trend Micro House call was taking ages. SmitFraud resolved the DNS hack that I encountered and apparently Windows Live Care removed trojan:winnt/alureon.c and quarantined virtool.
Please help!

If you can't get rid of theese Malware, I've the following recommendation for you:
I would like you to read the thread "BEFORE you POST"(READ this Procedure BEFORE Requesting Assistance) from tashi. After that, open your own thread in the Malware Removal Forum including an HijackThis log file. Someone will help you there.
