Spybot only scans about 900 items

I think whatever malware I had must have corrupted spybot because now it only scans about 900 items in about 5-10 seconds. I've reinstalled and updated but nothing seems to help. What else can I do?

What is your operating system and please list security programs installed.

Other than what you have described is anything else remiss which leads you to believe the computer is infected?

I'm running XP SP3 and I also have malwarebytes installed. I was definitely infected. Before running malwarebytes I couldn't even open up Spybot. Malwarebytes found 20 or 30 infected items and removed them.

Hello bwallen,

Please see this FAQ to post a preliminary DDS log: "BEFORE you POST"(READ this Procedure BEFORE Requesting Assistance)

Then start a new topic in the Malware Removal Forum and copy paste the log into it, an analyst will advise you as soon as available.

If DDS won't run please start a new thread anyway and make note of the situation.
