Spybot troubles

Hello, I am new here and it appears my PC has been attacked by something. I downloaded Spybot a few days ago and ran it. Everything appeared to be good until today and now nothing will run on that PC. I found this forum and specifically this thread (http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?t=288) but I can't even follow the first step by turning on advanced mode in Spybot because nothing I run on my PC will do anything. I just click the icon and nothing happens. I am so frustrated.

Any advice at this point?

drragostea, that worked perfect. Now I will follow the directions in the other thread and see if we can't figure out what is going on. Thanks again.
