Spybot Windows Directory Problem

Greetings everyone, Long-time Spybot User and First-time Poster. :red:

A few days ago, I updated my Spybot to the newest version (1.6.0.31). And since the update, everytime I boot up (or restart) my computer, a Window of the Spybot Directory pops up. I tried looking at the various settings, but nothing is working. So here I am, hoping someone here might know what to do.

FYI, I'm running Windows XP.

Thanks for responding!

Is Spybot located at C:\Program Files\Spybot - Search & Destroy,or did you install it to somewhere else?

Tyrannos:

Did you uninstall the previous version of Spybot before the new version?

Did you install in the default directory or some other directory? The default directory is:
  • C:\Program Files\Spybot - Search & Destroy
Did you rename the installation directory either before or after installation?

No, I did not uninstall. I clicked on "Upgrade" within the Spybot Program and it updated the program.

And the directory is the default one.

The Problem cleared when I uninstalled.

But when I reinstalled, the problem resurfaced. And the computer started running way slower than before. Even internet browsing was longer. Then I uninstalled again, the problem cleared.

Seems the problem is this latest verison of Spybot.

I will download the 1.6.0 update in hopes that there won't be any future problems.
