Spybot won't let me install/ uninstall

So I bought a new antivirus that requires me to uninstall Spybot Search and Destroy. However, I have tried removing the program in every way possible. The Add/Remove program tells me that it is in a format not recognized by the uninstaller. So when I try and remove it manually through program files (as suggest on the how to page!) It tells me Access Denied: that it may be full or write protected or that the file is not in use. And the file is not in use. So I tried to update the program hoping that it would then let me uninstall it. No luck. It tells me that there was a problem with the installation and could hence forth not be installed.


So I feel out of luck and a little frustrated. So please HELP!!!

Not sure if there's something wrong with the Spybot uninstaller. Try reinstalling Spybot over your current one (to replace the uninstaller file) and uninstall again.
