Hi
When i run the free version 2.4 of Spybot, it automatically logs me out of outlook. Also when i go to user twitter, i must login again and it changes my display settings from default white to lights out background.

Is there a way to run Spybot without having to relog into outlook and twitter? And without my default stetting in Twitter changing from default background to lights out background

thanks

Hello. :)
Those things might be happening after you scan with Spybot when Usage Tracks are removed. There's an explanation of what Usage Tracks are on this page under What Are Usage Tracks:
https://www.safer-networking.org/imported/it/2017-2/usage-tracks-scan-video-tutorial/

If you would like to stop scanning for Usage Tracks to see if you then stay logged in to Outlook and X and keep your lights out background afterwards, then you could rightclick Spybot Start Center, select Run as Administrator, in the lower right of the start center select Show Details. Checkmark Advanced User Mode if it's unchecked, then select Settings. Click categories, and somewhere within the Spybot window rightclick and select spyware scan only. That would stop Spybot from searching for usage tracks.

If you have Spybot 2.4 and that wasn't an accidental typo, then Spybot has a newer 2.9 version now if you'd like to check it out:

This is the compatibility page, it's an older legacy page so I think that's why Windows 11 is not listed there:

thanks. this fixed my problem
BTW i am using version 2.4.40.0 Start Center 2.4.40.130.
I will update to latest version- program has an update feature i use, but nothing that says a new version is available

Is there any downside to not scanning the usage tracks?
Do i have to run as Administrator and navigate to catagories and run spyware everytime or will it remember this setting?

thanks so much for you help and time

You're welcome. :)
I usually keep an eye on the Spybot Home page or the forum announcements section in case there's an update to the program. The announcements section of the forums is here:
https://forums.spybot.info/forumdisplay.php?2-Announcements
And sometimes new editions are announced on the News section of the Spybot website, if I remember correctly:
https://www.safer-networking.org/category/news/

Spybot will remember the settings to just scan for Spyware as long as you clicked Apply and Okay afterwards.

Yes, the Spybot website lists a downside for not scanning for usage tracks. I'll quote it here:

What are usage tracks?

Usage tracks contain information about the history of websites you visited, web pages you have opened, documents you have read or edited, programs you have run and other information recording your activities that is stored on your computer.
This information can be useful as it can speed up access to data. It is stored on your system in locations where users would not normally see it (for example the registry).
They sound useful. Why would I want to remove them?

One of the downsides to storing your usage tracks is that attackers may use this information to steal your identity and compromise your system. The advanced features in Spybot can remove some of the most important and common tracks on your system.

If that concerns you, you could decide to scan for usage tracks again, or if you feel relatively safe doing so you could leave it on spyware scan only. Or as a compromise between the two, you could even leave it on Spyware scan only most of the time so you'll stay logged in to X and Outlook and keep the preferred background on X, then do a Usage Tracks scan once in a while for safety. If you wanted to do a Usage Tracks scan just once in a while you could rightclick Spybot Start Center, select Run As Administrator, click System Scan. If the System Scan starts automatically click Stop Scan, wait until it stops then when it says Show Scan Results click the arrow beside that and select Scan For Usage Tracks. That will still log you out of some places afterwards but it wouldn't happen as often and you'd have control of it. :)
