system settings protector has stopped working

I get this message: "system settings protestor has stopped working" after booting the system and after some use. Tea Timer goes down after this message.

I'm running vista x64 sp2.

I just got the same problem on 15 July 09. I got a notice to update from 1.6.0 to 1.6.2 and during this process I got the system Settings Protector has stopped working error. I also got, "tcpipaddress.dll delete file failed" so I had to abort the update process. :sad:

We recommend a fresh install of Spybot - Search & Destroy.

Please uninstall Spybot - Search & Destroy according to the following link.
Then make a fresh install of Spybot - Search & Destroy 1.6.2.
You will find links to several download locations on our website.

Or choose the direct installation file.
