This has probably been asked before but I wouldn't know where to begin to look. How can I disable the feature in version 1.60 that offers to delete my temp files. I would prefer to retain control over this action and not worry that the program will count down and delete them automatically. Thanks for any help.

Nothing simple like a checkbox to uncheck? Whose idea was this? Hopefully it will be fixed in a later version. I have never had a reason to go into the registry and have no idea how to navigate to there or what to do once in. This is nannyism at its worst....I thought only Microsoft did stuff like this. :clown: I am an intelligent adult that looks for updates daily and who likes to control when I clean things up and do scans.
The bad thing is...it doesn't work for me. The little countdown thingy shows 115 files before and after my manual deletions of the temp files. And...it seems to stay on that number even if several days go by. It wouldn't bother me so much if it only deleted the temp files, but for all I know it will also delete all my cookies, including the password ones. Disappointed by this miscue...you have an otherwise good and useful product.

if u do start>run>temp
this will show you the contents of the windows temp files folder.
the items that spybot keeps seeing and not deleting are quite probably empty folders inside the temp files folder (u may have to enable "show hidden files").
try deleting any empty folders inside the temp dir. i have read somewhere recently that spybot does not handle empty folders well and will not erase them.
i also read in the same thread that windows will not actually let u delete anything that it is actually using, so u should be well safe by deleting empty folders in the temp dir.
i did this and had loads of temporary empty folders created from viewing partially downloaded movie files as they were downloaded.
