trojan detected and not removed

I have run into a trojan that is driving me crazy. Mcaffee detects it and calls it Generic Fake Alert.a. Spyware doctor also detects it. Spybot and adaware do not detect it. Mcaffee claims to remove it but it keeps getting detected 6-8 times a night. It redirects any Google search for any antivirus program to its own website. Is there any tool out there to remove it?

The FakeAlert sounds more like a SmitFraud infection. It distributes (probably force installed or installed without your knowledge) rogue anti-malware programs (XPAntiVirusPro2008 eg.) and forces you to purchase them to "remove" itself.

Instructions are below:
Consider posting in the Malware Removal forum and having someone take a look at your system.
