Unsollicited software.

I suddenly find 2 programs in my computer that I never asked for. "Browserchoice" and "Onenote". Are these gifts from Microsoft? And if so why don't they ask me for a confirmation like they do for any other program I want to install?

I assume that you installed MS Office 07 if you have OneNote.

Never heard about Browserchoice, unless that's browserchoice.eu. It only lists some list of browsers (Firefox, IE, Opera, Chrome, Safari, and their clones...), http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BrowserChoice.eu. OneNote is a part of MS Office 2007. Yes, Browserchoice came with an automatic update. Took me half a day to find out it was not some kind of malware. The page it shows does not say it is from Microsoft, nor does it give a link do a Microsoft site where you can verify its origin.

My computer came with a trial version of Office2007, so maybe OneNote was already there, but they suddenly decided to put a link to it in the systemtray.

All in all, careless behaviour by MicroSoft, but no issue for Spybot.
