I've noticed a couple of issues.

1. There is a yellow exclamation mark over my Symantec Antivirus logo in the systray. I cannot real time protection or open Symantec by right clicking.

If I open Symantec through the Start Menu, I do not get any options to scan my computer and I cannot see the current virus definition.

2. Teatimer seems to be interfering with Mozilla Firefox. If I have teatimer enabled I cannot open Firefox.

I just rebooted and it was not teatimer that was blocking Firefox. I'm not sure what was going on, but I have teatimer enabled and I can use Firefox.

I'm still having the Symantec issue. Should I reinstall Symantec?
 
Yes, maybe best to reinstall Symantec.

TeaTimer interferes here some:

We need first to disable TeaTimer that it doesn't interfere with fixes. You can re-enable it when you're clean again:

1. Run Spybot-S&D in Advanced Mode.
2. If it is not already set to do this Go to the Mode menu select "Advanced Mode"
3. On the left hand side, Click on Tools
4. Then click on the Resident Icon in the List
5. Uncheck "Resident TeaTimer" and OK any prompts.
6. Restart your computer.

Download ResetTeaTimer.bat to the Desktop
http://downloads.subratam.org/ResetTeaTimer.bat
Double click ResetTeaTimer.bat to remove all entries set by TeaTimer (and preventing TeaTimer to restore them upon reactivation).

Reboot.

Post back a fresh HijackThis log.

Well...it looks like the Symantec issue is worse than I thought. I cannot uninstall or repair my anti-virus installation from the control panel. I can't install or uninstall from the CD. I can't deploy a client install from the server to this machine and I can't run the application.

I've never had a problem like this before so any help would be appreciated. As far as I can tell Symantec Anti-Virus is the only application that is affected.
