virtumonde virtumonde.prx trojan generic

I am so greatful for your work. I send my friends here all the time. lol

I do have one final question though... there are a ton of stuff in my Spyware Doctor Quarantine ... what should I do with it? It has the virtumonde thing in there as well...

Okay, I'm glad the bat file worked like planned.

The computer has been very responsive. Since using opera things have been going very well lately.

So after all of this I can run one both programs to see if we covered everything?

Hi,

You can delete those quarantined items :)

Yes, you may do so.

I'm getting a message in spybot search and destroy saying "You need to install the detection updates first by using the integrated update or the manual updater."

what does this mean?

I just did a full system scan after the intelliscan with my spyware doctor and it came up with something new...

I keep getting the Application.NirCmd...
Spyware.Possible_Website_Hijack (109 infections)
It couldn't clean it out either.

Hi,

Nircmd is in this case related to ComboFix and is not dangerous. Any other details about that other finding?

For that other question with Spybot please see here.

I guess this describes what that spyware thing was... Indicates that a known good site may be hijacked. Adware, Spyware and Phishing sites may use the Windows hosts file to redirect your browser to a malicious site when you try to access a valid site such as your Bank.

spybot fixed. :)

I just searched with spybot search and destroy got it to work thank god lol and it turned up only browsing cookies.. adrevolver and right media

So i have no idea about that spyware website hijack thing...

I am currently asking PC Tools' forum for some help and it appears there are many people with the same problem.

But, aside from that, it appears my computer is all right with the exception of IE 8 beta screwing up and not letting me update to release candidate 1.

Hi,

Spyware Doctor may be alarming of those entries Spybot makes to hosts file. Those are legit ones.

Have you tried simply uninstall IE 8 beta and then install RC 1?

I have not tried to do that just yet. I will try tomorrow sometime and let you know what happened. I always hated how microsoft makes you use IE because its already on the OS ;( . Oh well I guess.

Things are running very well though. I haven't encountered anything my programs couldn't remove... like the browsing cookies etc. small stuff.

You were right about the spybot and spyware doctor thing you mentioned a couple of days ago. There are some complicated steps that can fix it right now but since that threat isn't really a threat I have nothing to worry about as you mentioned.

:bigthumb:

The IE is strill screwing up. I can't get it to uninstall or update so I don't know if I should just leave it or something else??

What would you do?
