Here’s my story, it starts with an auto loading of a program called anti Virus 2009 (a bugger to get rid of) by accident. I manually removed the program using Norton. This triggered Mc afee to report an unwanted program called Winxdefender which was located in the uninstall program exe in Anti Virus 2009 program and removed it.
From this point on, Spybot kept reporting Virtumonde.sci, and was fixed. The next day it would reappear again or sooner. Spybot would report Virtumonde.sci fixed regardless weather TT was on or off. I also ran both Mcafee, Norton anti virus programs and Ad Ware 2008 Smart scan which reported nothing.
I read most of the treads for Virumonde.sci and what was being suggested for the removal. I was about to post my HJT log but remembered I was going to be away for a few days I figured I put it off till I got back.
I decided to give it one more shot, I ran both anti virus programs and nothing, and Spybot again reported Virumonde.sci and it was fixed. The last program I ran was Ad Ware 2008 but with one change. Instead of running the Smart scan I ran the full scan (deep scan). The sparks started to fly, early in the scan Ad Ware reported a win32 Trojan agent (6 infections) plus about 6 cookies. Near the end of the Ad Ware scan, my Mcafee program reported two alerts and removal which turned out to be “FakeAlert-AB Trojan” which was in two restore file. As recommended, I also cleared all my restore point and started fresh.
Since the above, I have NOT gotten any more Virumonde.sci reports and Spybot is reporting everything is fine. I’m still attaching a copy of HJT log to see if there is any garage left.
