What type of file is this?

I have a file on my computer that opens with notepad. The name of the file is presets. When I open the file this is what it has written in it:

[MAIN]
Bandwidth=288

Can this file be deleted? What is it for?

try and find the file
right click and look at properties
noodle around and see if you can find an author
or
perhaps the path to the file will give you a clue

It's not hurting anything
google may give you way to many irrelevant hits
