The location of the Spybot log files should be in one of these locations, depending on your operating system:
Windows 95 or 98:
C:\Windows\Application Data\Spybot - Search & Destroy\Logs
Windows ME:
C:\Windows\All Users\Application Data\Spybot - Search & Destroy\Logs
Windows NT, 2000 or XP:
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Spybot - Search & Destroy\Logs
Windows Vista and also Windows 7,I believe:
C:\ProgramData\Spybot - Search & Destroy\Logs
The Checks and/or Fixes log is dated,so you should be able to find the results of your last scan.
It is in this format:
Checks.yymmdd-hhmm
Or:
Fixes.yymmdd-hhmm
The Checks log is produced during a Spybot scan, the Fixes log is produced if you fix or attempt to fix something.
The information above appears to be out of date for Windows 7. I cannot find the scan logs at %systemdrive%\ProgramData\Spybot - Search & Destroy\Logs, nor under the Users folders. I found no scan logs at any of these locations.
Spybot runs automatically on my computer while I am sleeping. I need to confirm that it actually ran.
C:\ProgramData\Spybot - Search & Destroy\Logs shows only Resident.log and Update downloads.log. The latter shows that updates are taking place automatically. In addition, running Update shows that Soybot is already up-to-date.
However, I have not been able to find the scan logs.
The Spybot Scheduler has been checked several times. It runs in Administrator mode, and I verified that the administrator password has been entered and confirmed. Nevertheless, the Scheduler tab indicates, "One or more properties that are needed to run this task on a schedule have not been set."
I elected not to fix problems automatically and not to close the program after finishing scheduled tasks.
The attachment was not the one I intended, and I do not know how the old log file was attached. I found the attachment window esoteric and difficult to navigate.
The answer to my question as to the location of the scan logs for Spybot v1.6 in Windows 7 remains unanswered. I would appreciate a relevant answer.
