Hi My Helper.

Symptoms started as Windows Explorer would keep restarting, making use of the PC close to impossible.
Spybot safe mode: Running Spybot freezed after detecting "SCKeylogger", with 3 subsubjects; 1 exe, 2 HKEY entries.
MalWareBytes safe mode: Freezes after 1:50 at process "Windows\System32\ntdll.dll" during "Quick scan". OS does'nt freeze, just MWB. But processor at 100%!
AVAST:
1. scan safe mode; "Can not process C:\Windows\System32\kwiwkmtprmmiti.dll file".
2. scan during restart in vista; Displays that "C\Windows\System32\kungsfngqtriwt.dll.vir. is infected by ALUREON_BQ(Rtk) and ALUREON_BH(Rtk)"
Now freezed at 88% of scan, at proces "C:\Windows\System32\NTIO804.sys". Let it scan through the night, but still stopped at 88%!!!

When started in normal mode nothing happens, just black desk top with cursor-arrow still able to move!


No keyboard entry or combination will do anything at all...

So I'll just post a new HijackThis log/safe mode- maybe it's useable?

Doesn'nt really look good..?

So then we do this:

We will begin with ComboFix.exe. Please visit this webpage for download links, and instructions for running the tool:
This tool is not a toy and not for everyday use.
ComboFix SHOULD NOT be used unless requested by a forum helper

Ensure you have disabled all anti virus and anti malware programs so they do not interfere with the running of ComboFix.
If you need help to disable your protection programs see here.

When finished, it will produce a log for you. Please include the C:\ComboFix.txt in your next reply along with a fresh HijackThis log.

First I made sure, that anti malware programs were deactivated.

Next I made 2 attempts(!!!) to run ComboFix:

-----------------

1. Attempt:
ComboFix stopped with a;
"c.bat. blue-screen", displaying: (my danish-english translation)
"PEV.cfxxe has stopped working. A program caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows shuts down the program and notifies You, if a solution is found"

-then I close box, and a new alert-box displays:

"The system can not find announcementtext for announcement number
0x2363 in announcementfile for Application (..and..)
0x8 in announcementfile for System".
Access denied. Administrator permissions is needed.
Use an adm. comm. promt to complete these tasks"

-then I exit Combofix blue-screen box.

New box appears(title "Rootkit"):

"Combofix has discovered rootkit activity and restarts the computer.
Please write down names of each file on a piece of paper. We may get use of it later" (...still my translations...)
File displayed: "C:/Windows/system32/drivers/kbiwkmxnieufpp.sys" (-sorry about no back-slash; new apple keyboard for PC!!-forgothow...)

2. Attempt -after restart
(ComboFix started by right-clicking icon on desktop; "Run as Adm.")
ComboFix now stops with a blue-screen titled "Adminisrator", displaying:
-just as above 1. attempt, exept for:
"The system can not find temp04"
"Access denied... etc." .... - ....
"Combofix has discovered rootkit activity etc., etc."

Before these 2 attempts to run a ComboFix scan, I planned to make a HJT scan BEFORE and AFTER running ComboFix.

Please download Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and save it to your desktop.

  • Make sure you are connected to the Internet.
  • Double-click on mbam-setup.exe to install the application.
  • When the installation begins, follow the prompts and do not make any changes to default settings.
  • When installation has finished, make sure you leave both of these checked:
    • Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
    • Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
  • Then click Finish.
  • MBAM will automatically start and you will be asked to update the program before performing a scan. If an update is found, the program will automatically update itself. Press the OK button to close that box and continue. If you encounter any problems while downloading the updates, manually download them from here and just double-click on mbam-rules.exe to install.
  • On the Scanner tab:
    • Make sure the "Perform Full Scan" option is selected.
    • Then click on the Scan button.
  • If asked to select the drives to scan, leave all the drives selected and click on the Start Scan button.
  • The scan will begin and "Scan in progress" will show at the top. It may take some time to complete so please be patient.
  • When the scan is finished, a message box will say "The scan completed successfully. Click 'Show Results' to display all objects found".
  • Click OK to close the message box and continue with the removal process.
  • Back at the main Scanner screen, click on the Show Results button to see a list of any malware that was found.
  • Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
  • When removal is completed, a log report will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to restart your computer. (see Note below)
  • The log is automatically saved and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.
  • Copy and paste the contents of that report in your next reply and exit MBAM.
Note: If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts. Click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process. If asked to restart the computer, please do so immediately. Failure to reboot will prevent MBAM from removing all the malware.

Hi again.

I'll now try MBAM, and see if there's more luck this time; as I first posted, MBAM froze and CPU went permanently 100%!

Back in no time...
 
..well, I'm stuck.

-so is MBAM, exatly as before, freezing at;
"Windows\System32\ntdll.dll",
-and again probably at processorspeed at 100%- couldn't close MBAM so had to crash-exit it!

Would You consider, that all options to remove malware are now tried?
In that case, could You give me advise, to which (F8>Advanced start setup>Repair computer>3.)System Recovery Option" of these is to prefer, and what it will do(if anything):

- Startup Repair
- System Restore
- Windows complete PC-restore
- Windows memory diagnostic Tool
- Command Promt
- Restore OS image

Note, that NO Vista CD-ROM or DVD came my Mesiro Home-entertainment PC... Got it as new at a low'ish price, so...?

You can try System Restore next.

If it doesn't work, then Windows complete PC-restore.
 
Well, I can't really say i'm quite happy about how things turned out- not really ungreatful for the help either, Shaba :confused:

I chose to format HD, which was the "F8>Repair Computer>System Recovery Options>Restore OS image" -option on MY Vista PC. This worked well, and now I'll purchase "nod32" anti spyware, as recommended by a guy in the business.

Too bad all these malicious guys :fear: out there don't have a life- bet they are the same guys selling anti-spyware :D:
