Hey Blade, my IE is running really slow compared to b4. When I click on something that changes pages, it sits for 10 - 15 secs b4 it changes. Any ideas? Thanks

One question, What is the difference btwn spybot and adaware?

Both are antispyware programs but can still be run on same machine (unlike two different antivirus programs).

Would it be wise for me to upgrade any of these to the paid versions?

Maybe you want to give free versions a try first.

Yes. It will notify you about outdated programs and helps that way to keep the system as updated as possible.

Sorry bout the delay. Ran through the same websites on IE and Firefox and firefox was flying around without lag. Ran same websites on IE and it was slow. Thanks for the other info also

Hi,

Please try IE with add-ons disabled:
Click Start -> All Programs -> Accessories -> System Tools, and then click Internet Explorer (No Add-ons).

Let me know how it runs + post fresh dds.txt log contents.

Hi,

The next step is to disable add-ons one by one to see which one is causing slowness.

A To isolate the specific browser add-on that is contributing to the issue, you can use IE’s Manage Add-ons feature to pick specific add-ons to disable:

1. Click Tools -> Internet Options.
2. Click the Programs tab, then Manage add-ons.

Note: The Manage Add-ons option under Tools is disabled in No Add-ons mode so you must go to Internet Options, Programs, Manage add-ons to manually enable/disable add-ons.

3. Select an add-on in the Name list, and then click Disable.

4. Click OK, OK again, OK again and then close IE.

B Restart IE normally and see if your problem is resolved.

1. If it is, you should uninstall the specific add-on via Control Panel’s Add/Remove Programs or the applications own uninstaller.
2. If the problem persists, you will need to repeat steps 1-3 until you have identified the specific add-on causing the problem.
Tip: Disable several add-on’s at once to speed up your process of elimination.

These are the things in the toolbar extensions. Is the Conduit LTD thing legit? Seems that was installed right around the time when things started to go downhill.
I am in the process of going through them all but let me get this right. Should I enable/disable them in the regular IE or in the IE with no add-ons?

Is the Conduit LTD thing legit?

It appears to be legit. However, that may still slow down the browser.

Should I enable/disable them in the regular IE or in the IE with no add-ons?

Hey Blade! I did remove alot of toolbars and disabled some other things. Seemed to help a bit. Im gonna let it go for the day and see how it works. Yesterday the whole PC was real slow with everything according to my wife. I'll see how it goes today. I really appreciate all your help. You saved me alot of headaches!!!

Blade, IE and even the aol explorer are still running slooooow. Firefox flies along. I tried to do all the IE addons and still no differences. Could I uninstall IE and reinstall it to see if that helps?
