WinXP sp2 - multiple login accounts question

Is it advisable/necessary for all of the users/accounts on a WinXP machine to run Spybot? Or, is it sufficient for just one account to take that responsibility, which is what I have been assuming?

What prompted this question was what I observed when a second account attempted to open Spybot for the first time: Spybot went through the initial install sequence... make copy of registry, imunize, etc...

I'm a little surprised/confused by that!?

Along with the thread referenced above, there are several items that Spybot S&D 1.4 stores in the HKey_Current_User portion of the registry, such as the startup entry for TeaTimer which is also mentioned in that other thread.

One of these entries is the 'WizardRun' entry which indicates to Spybot that it has run the Wizard already in this account. This is why the Wizard starts automatically in a fresh account, to set default values for the program in that user's registry.

How to block tracking (third party) cookies.

Spybot's IE Resident Browser Helper Object (BHO) blocks the same tracking (third party) cookies in Internet Explorer as the scan detects. If you want to activate this feature go into Spybot-S&D > Immunize. Look in the last section labeled "Permanently running bad download blocker for Internet Explorer". If "Enable permanent blocking of bad addresses in Internet Explorer" is not checked, checked it.

There are three modes of operation (options) which are in the pull-down below "Enable permanent blocking of bad addresses in Internet Explorer". They are:
  • Block all pages silently
  • Display dialog when blocking
  • Ask for blocking confirmation

    • Most people prefer "Block all pages silently".

      Please be aware that some sites require that you allow the storing of third party cookies in order to use (logon to) their site. That is one of the reasons that the other options besides "Block all pages silently" are available.

      If you don't encounter any of these sites consider the following:
      As I indicated above Spybot's IE Resident (BHO) blocks the same cookies as the scan detects. If you want to block all third party cookies, even the ones Spybot does not detect, you can do that with browser settings. Read the following:
