It's kind of cool if she did call your name and your sister's name, though. Sort of a "Hey, I'm still around and thinking of you." kind of deal.

I always say I'm not sure or I don't know, too. Many years ago, my mom took me over to her house and I was there for a while. We went out to the car, and the downstairs bedroom light turned on by itself. Before my mom lived there, a lady lived there that got very sick and eventually died after going to the hospital. So I always wondered....the lady, or some sort of electrical issue?

A few years later, the scarier option occurred to me...what if there was a real live person in the house that turned on the light? Though, nothing seemed disturbed afterwards, there was no indication of forced entry and most burglars don't break in just to turn on lights to scare the bejeebers out of you, but still...made me wonder.

Also, if there are spirits around, I wonder why we have such a fear reaction?

Paranormal...

Maybe one day, if science and research are able, we'll find out.

My thought, beware of what you wish for. If trying to communicate using a Voice Recorder indeed captured something......I don't think I'd ever be the same person.

That's a toss-up. I figure both would be scary.
Listening...
In either case, if I saw or heard anything I'd probably be the one screaming Nope! and running away as fast as I could.

I'm usually right in the middle between skeptical and believing. If there is a rational explanation for something, I'll take it seriously, but if there's something that does seem paranormal, I'll consider that, too. I find a lot of skeptics will dismiss large parts of a story to say it was swamp gas or whatever, and I find paranormal believers will sometimes toss good scientific explanations out the window. I always try to consider both sides of it, either way it's pretty cool. :)

personal experience

When someone asks questions I have to reply, I don't know because thats the truth, I don't know.

But, since my mother has passed, I still talk to her presence in my mind and if it's in my mind only I can accept that too.

Spiritual Growth...

That's pretty cool. Almost like your Mom stuck around in some capacity as perhaps, a guide or just even to stay with you. :)

Spiritual Understanding

It happened once, only once and it was for the best it never happened again.

Insight...

I know at my step-great-grandfather's funeral, I was quite upset and crying, and the preacher looked right at me and said we knew my step-great-grandfather would never want us to be upset because he passed away. I presume the preacher knew him, because that was very true, but there was an empty seat beside me and I always felt like my step-great-grandfather was sitting beside me. It was a very comforting presence. I know it sounds silly, but I almost felt like he was compelling the preacher to say that, though I doubt that could be true. I'm the same way, I cannot outright say he was really there, but I also can't just discount it, either.

Gut Instinct...
Me, too. I also read an interesting post once that intuition might be our brain gathering and processing information that tells us how best to proceed but we don't consciously know it so it comes out as a gut instinct or sixth sense, which I thought was pretty cool though I don't know how legit that is. :)

(women's intuition), psychic
I think many decisions could had been made better if we had followed our gut feeling.......
