YouTube Still Safe?

I know YouTube has spyware advertisements and all, but is it safe?

There are some creative videos that we all see. But, are they actually safe? They're uploaded through YouTube and all, so I just want to know if I can trust YouTube to not install Malware on my computer. I use Firefox. Thanks in advance to all responses.

Hello.

Your topic here http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?t=17448 is still pertinant. :)

Be mindful of banner ads, flash, browser vunerabilities, codecs, etc.

An entire site may not be hacked but the content. Like the recent MySpace Band hacks. PCWorld

The best defense is to keep all security programs and Windows up to date, and to be careful of what you click on.

Regards.

Yes, I know it's still pertinent but like this was different.

It didn't block it, and the video plays, and the website is right, like www.youtube.com/XXXXXXXXX and it plays. But like, what I'm asking is, it comes buffering from another place. Is that other place safe?

Sorry I'm paranoid, but this is the only working computer left until Christmas Eve, and I don't want it ruined.

Plus, the people's names aren't very trustworthy on the site such as "HouseholdHacker."

Hello.

I responded to a general question as to whether or not YouTube is safe.

Now you give more information:

Household hacker appears to be giving tips, the word 'hacker' in and of itself is not a bad word.

Could you be more specific so that someone may be able to give you an answer that applies, without their attempting to test every video on YouTube. ;)

Best wishes

Alright, well let's see...

Every person who uploads a video is like their own little person. But sometimes videos can be downloaded from other places and so forth, so we all know the videos can have bad stuff on it.

And people always upload like some sort of strip tease or something video, and I doubt those are safe at all, haha. So more specifically let's say I'm talking about those types of videos.

Sounds like you answered your own question. :)

My apologies for double posting, but I can't edit the previous post, and this just came up.

I was logging into Facebook, and usually after some malware is found, it asks for the password and username/e-mail in this case.

And Firefox should remember them, but doesn't, so can Spyware do this, because I know of Spyware that check what people type like on MySpace and all?

Alright, I usually see Zlob every now and then, and according to one of the links it add spyware.

But it only comes out as a cookie. If I delete Zlob, will it delete all those other files that were added?

If your security software does not remove Zlob, Warning: Infection via bad CODEC installs. Zlob (posted above) contains the following links.

Hello,

Zlob infections are way more badly than just having a cookie. Mostly you have several bad files on your pc....
and you are getting redirected on internet searches.

I think I might have Zlob...but I don't know of any programs I know of that have recently been installed even after looking at the page tasha suggested to me.

Does Zlob work like when I'm on Google and I click on one of the numbers at the bottom and I click like 4 but it takes me to 1?

And how would I find the programs it installed if it installed any.
