Zlob DNS Changer

Yes. Run mbam when you are at home and post back its log and a fresh HijackThis log.

Do this:

1. Run Spybot-S&D in Advanced Mode.
2. If it is not already set to do this Go to the Mode menu select "Advanced Mode"
3. On the left hand side, Click on Tools
4. Then click on the Resident Icon in the List
5. Check "Resident TeaTimer" and OK any prompts.
6. Restart your computer.

If not available, you will need to uninstall and re-install spybot with TeaTimer.

k thank you i turned it back on. i would like to thank you for all the help you have given me. I told my Dad about this problem I've been having and he told me i should wipe my hard drive and start over. Oh yah he is a computer tech himself. When i got this laptop it never came with the OS disks. Im supposed to create them myself with Recovery Disc Creator. Im thinking though that now that i have this problem that it wont matter if i create them, cause maybe that will be infected too. Am i right or wrong?

They won't get infected if there a special partition in hard drive from which it creates Recovery Disk and if that one isn't infected.

hi it terrie again, im at home and here is my MBAM report and HJT report.

After i ran MBAM and delete i ran it 2 more times and i believe that my problem is now gone. If you are not sure that its gone for sure let me know and i can send you reports again. would like to thank you for all your help. Just curious though, the reason i couldnt get it to go away was it because i was on an infected network and it would just come back again and again? Now that im at home the problem just went away too easy, is that possible?

"Just curious though, the reason i couldnt get it to go away was it because i was on an infected network and it would just come back again and again?"

Exactly :) Router was infected there.

Have you previously uninstalled Norton?

Yah i did cause it seemed like it wasnt picking up any infections and it was just a trial version so i put a trial version of Windows OneCare till i got home. Not sure which one is better, Windows OneCare or Norton 360

Both of them are fine; no antivirus can find all threats.

There are some norton remnants in that case. Which one of those you want to use?

If OneCare, we will remove norton remnants next :)

Well I think i just have remnants cause i didnt remove everything from add and remove programs on norton like Liveupdate 3.2 and Liveupdate Notice which are both part of Norton. Im guessing i should get rid of them also? I do have a full version of Norton 360 here at my house, should I just put that back on?

In that case, please remove Liveupdate 3.2 and Liveupdate Notice along with OneCare and install Norton 360 :)

Yes rebooting would be good to perform as well as enabling windows firewall.

You can disable windows firewall after installation.

Post back a fresh HijackThis log afterwards, please.
