Unknown Appears in Status Bar

Hi,

Anyone else notice at the very start of a scan the word "Unknown" appears briefly and should this be happening?

Well, to me it could be a indication that Spybot is warming up for a scan. Basically, it's just starting to scan. I'm not sure if it's a bug or not, as it has been there for quite some time.

Don't know if it's a bug either, but if that is not the case I would have thought it would have used something more meaningful like "Computing", "Gathering Info" or "Calculating". "Unknown" makes it sound like an error is occurring.
 
I think it is a bug. Where should the bug be reported? In the "False Positives" sub-forum?

Unknown does not mean that there is some kind of unknown error. It is some sort of product name for threats, which have not been matched with any other already known threat. As Spybot shows each scanned product name in the lower panel, "Unknown" is also shown. This is neither an error nor a bug.
 
Thanks Buster, I'll keep that in mind.
So in other words... "Unknown" is really a "threat" that is detected by Spybot?
Or a "threat" that is not/has not been detected?

Thank you for the information. I suppose the thing that makes "Unknown" look out of place is that it's not associated with the Bot-Count, like everything else is after a scan is initiated.
