Which one please: http://www.safer-networking.org/private/Spybot version is 2.1
Perhaps because,Still Spybot doesn't do much.
Which isn't normal and why I've been asking for more details. :wink:When I click 'system scan' it runs for a little over one second
Do you recall what kind of malware? Sometimes an infection or leftovers will prevent security software from running.Avast prevented 3 different javascripts each time I started Google Chrome, Microsoft's msert.exe found the cause, and I could delete the malware from program files.
In the Avast virus chest it is identified as js:AddLyrics-D[Adw]
Hi TashiHello FlemmingK,
Thanks, that shouldn't be the cause then.

If you'd like to try perhaps uninstall Spybot and download a fresh version to see if that solves the scan issue.

Best regards.
Not to interrupt, but I read this thread and peeked in my spybot folder and saw a services.sbs file in my updates folder, and in my includes folder,so it's probably a downloaded file.
Maybe try updating to see if you get the file.
Rightclick start center, run as admin, checkmark advanced user mode, click Update, once you're in the update section you'll see a bar going across saying testing, once that's all done, click Update.
