System scan doesn't do much

When I click 'system scan' it runs for a little over one second and tells me there is one infection. When I click results, there isn't any.
What can I do?

Hi Tashi

Performasnce is good.
No, this is the first time I run Spybot on this machine. Ran it years ago on other machine.
Avast prevented 3 different javascripts each time I started Google Chrome, Microsoft's msert.exe found the cause, and I could delete the malware from program files. Still Spybot doesn't do much.

Hello FlemmingK,

Could you try running Spybot in safe mode and let us know if the scan completes, as with most scans it should take more than one second. :)

Best regards.

Thanks Tashi

I tried in safe mode. Execution time went down to 0.6 sec. I also stopped AdAware. Same result.
ny more ideas?

Do you recall what kind of malware? Sometimes an infection or leftovers will prevent security software from running. :)

Best regards.

Hi ashi

In the Avast virus chest it is identified as js:AddLyrics-D[Adw]
The program directory was called something lige dsecure.

File missing

Hello FlemmingK,

Thanks, that shouldn't be the cause then.

If you'd like to try perhaps uninstall Spybot and download a fresh version to see if that solves the scan issue. :)

Hi Tashi

I installed v.2.2 today. Same problem. I found the log files. They say that the services.sbs file is missing.
Ho do i get that file and get it into place?

Not to interrupt, but I read this thread and peeked in my spybot folder and saw a services.sbs file in my updates folder, and in my includes folder,so it's probably a downloaded file.
Maybe try updating to see if you get the file.
Rightclick start center, run as admin, checkmark advanced user mode, click Update, once you're in the update section you'll see a bar going across saying testing, once that's all done, click Update.
