    Hello,

We recommend a fresh install of Spybot - Search & Destroy.

Please uninstall Spybot - Search & Destroy according to the following link:
    http://www.safer-networking.org/en/howto/uninstall.html
Then make a fresh install of Spybot - Search & Destroy 1.5.2.
You will find links to several download locations on our website:
    http://www.safer-networking.org/en/mirrors/index.html

You will also have to update your new version using the integrated updater.
    This should solve the problem.

More informations about this problem is available in our forum:

Sorry, but a fresh installation will not fix this bug. But happily we found the reason for these error messages. For further details on this, we need your assistance. We would like to take a closer look at a special key in your registry for further analysis. To export this key, please select "Start" -> "Run" and type "regedit" and hit OK. Now Windows Registry Editor will be started. Please browse to the following location:

    "My Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters"

Now right click on "Parameters" and select "export". Please save this file to your desktop and attach it to your next post.
We will fix this bug in our next update.
Did you install any new software, which may have caused this. BTW which operating system do you run? Do you use any other security software?
Thanks in advance for your cooperation.

    Default true enough.

sadly it's true, uninstalling regardless of how complete the uninstall is does not fix it. i can't say exactly when it happened so it would be difficult to pinpoint an installation that affected this. possibly a game install. both Bioshock and Call of Duty 4 have been installed within the past month.

thanks for looking into this. i am a big fan of Spybot S&D and would love to have it fully functional.

so here are my parameters from the registry...

    Thanks for the file. :-)
We have created a file to fix this problem. Please download the attached domain.zip to your desktop and extract it. Now just add this file to your registry by double clicking on the domain.reg file and try to run Spybot once again.
