A log seemed to be generated, but I couldn't open it... getting the error that it wasn't "a valid Win32 application."
Hi,
Are you able to locate the log (check %userprofile%\AppData\Roaming\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\Logs folder)? Please attach the log to your post if you can find it.
Open notepad and then copy and paste the bolded lines below into it. Go to File > save as and name the file
regExport.bat, change the Save as type to all files and save it to your desktop.
regedit /a c:\regExport.txt "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\txtfile\shell\open"
del %0
Double-click on
regExport.bat file to execute it. You should end up with c:\regExport.txt file. Attach it to your post.

and OK any prompts.
- Restart your computer
Open notepad and copy/paste the text in the quotebox below into it:
Code:
Registry::
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\microsoft\security center\Monitoring]
"DisableMonitoring"=-
[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\microsoft\security center\Monitoring\SymantecAntiVirus]
[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\microsoft\security center\Monitoring\SymantecFirewall]
Save this as
