Vundo and some other trojans

I've been getting constant popups from McAfee telling me it has found and then cleaned the Vundo trojan. I also did the kapersky and it told me i had 6 trojans and 16 infected files. I'mnot exactly sure what is wrong. But here are both transcripts

4) Thanks to Atribune and any others who helped with this fix.

Please understand these hackers can call there junk anything they wish. Vundofix may not know the files at first, but it will learn. You want to run the fix until you see all Vundo files say: "Has been deleted"

Please download VundoFix.exe to your desktop
  • Double-click VundoFix.exe to run it.
  • Click the Scan for Vundo button.
  • Once it's done scanning, click the Remove Vundo button.
  • You will receive a prompt asking if you want to remove the files, click YES
  • Once you click yes, your desktop will go blank as it starts removing Vundo.
  • When completed, it will prompt that it will reboot your computer, click OK.
  • Please post the contents of C:\vundofix.txt and a new HiJackThislogin a reply to this thread.
Note: It is possible that VundoFix encountered a file it could not remove. In this case, VundoFix will run on reboot, simply follow the above instructions starting from "Click the Scan for Vundo button" when VundoFix appears upon rebooting.

I didn't post a Vundofix log, because there was no log to post. The program said it found none.

Anyway, I uploaded it to the website you told me to. Vundofix still wouldn't find it, i tried adding it myself, and it couldnt fix it. Rebooted. Tried scanning, then adding, couldnt fix, etc. about 4 more times.

What do I do now?

Hard to believe the 020 is gone and the BHO is still there? Try it again, like this:

Open Vundofix by Doubleclicking on it, then point your mouse to the white box above the buttons and right click, then click on Add More Files. When the next window opens, copy and paste the files into the boxes and click on Add File(s), then click on Close Window. Then click Remove Vundo.

Read and follow those directions carefully, this is the file you will add:
C:\WINDOWS\system32\iifgggh.dll
after you add it make sure to click remove Vundo and let it run.

Now do this:

How to make files and folders visible:
Click Start > Open My Computer.
Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
Select the View Tab. Under the Hidden files and folders heading, select Show hidden files and folders.
Uncheck: Hide file extensions for known file types
Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
Click Yes to confirm. Click OK.
You may reverse this for safety when we are finished.

Open HijackThis and choose "Do a system scan only" then check the box in front of these line items:

Close all programs but HJT and all browser windows, then click on "Fix Checked"

RIGHT Click on Start then click on Explore. Locate and delete these items:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\iifgggh.dll <<< make sure that file is gone

Run ATF Cleaner
Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
Click Select All found at the bottom of the list.
Click the Empty Selected button.
Click Exit on the Main menu to close the program.

Post a new log and some feedback.

Vundofix still can't find the file. Still won't remove it upon manually entering or rebooting.

Deleted the stuff out of hjt.

Could not delete it out of explorer (said file was write-protected or in use)

Anyhow, that file is gone and this HJT log is clean:bigthumb: Remove Vundofix, make sure you delete the C:\qoobox\quarantine\ folder. Restart the computer and run a new Kaspersky scan using these setting:

Run this online scan using Internet Explorer:
Kaspersky Online Scanner from http://www.kaspersky.com/virusscanner

Next Click on Launch Kaspersky Online Scanner

You will be prompted to install an ActiveX component from Kaspersky, Click Yes.

* The program will launch and then begin downloading the latest definition files:

* Now click on Scan Settings
* In the scan settings make that the following are selected:
* Scan using the following Anti-Virus database:
* Standard
* Scan Options:

* This will program will start and scan your system.
* The scan will take a while so be patient and let it run.
* Once the scan is complete it will display if your system has been infected.

* Save the file to your desktop.

Then post it here.

I do not need to see a clean scan, post it only if you have questions.

The file is still on my computer. When i tried to right click delete it i get, "Cannot Delete: iifgggh: Access is denied. make sure the disk is not full or write-protected and that the file is currently not in use"

So, should i still delete vundofix?
 
I read the info you sent, but could not use it to delete the file, as it called for menus that weren't available.

So. I came back from class today, and I had a barrage of about 37 internet explorer windows for things like security defender and security center and all this type of things. I've also been gettin security warning popups and everything.

Which means i have a ton of spyware as well, i guess.

I'm not quite sure how they all just came about. Also my clock in the right hand orner got reset to military time without me doing anything.

I ran a Spybot S/D and deleted the 16 things or so which came up, did another one and got nothing, but the popups remain.

What do you want me to do next? Should i still run combofix and give you that log, or should we tackle the spyware, or is there a both at once technique?

Thanks for following the instructions, this infection is one of the nastiest that deals mostly with fraud, and it appears it has downloaded more junk as you can see by the combofix results and HJT is also showing new infections. It is important that you stay offline except for the time you are troubleshooting until we get this under control. If I have not mentioned it before, there is no manual to follow and every infection seems to be different as the hackers do all they can to avoid our efforts. Let's proceed like this:

1) Make sure all files and folders are visible

2) We will need Vundofix again, because Atribune is constantly adding new files, please delete any copy you have and download it fresh from here:
Please download VundoFix.exe to your desktop
  • Double-click VundoFix.exe to run it.
  • Click the Scan for Vundo button.
  • Once it's done scanning, click the Remove Vundo button.
  • You will receive a prompt asking if you want to remove the files, click YES
  • Once you click yes, your desktop will go blank as it starts removing Vundo.
  • When completed, it will prompt that it will reboot your computer, click OK.
  • Please post the contents of C:\vundofix.txt and a new HiJackThislogin a reply to this thread.
Note: It is possible that VundoFix encountered a file it could not remove. In this case, VundoFix will run on reboot, simply follow the above instructions starting from "Click the Scan for Vundo button" when VundoFix appears upon rebooting.

It may be files were removed and this next step will be unnecessary? You will have to make that call for us.

3) Open Vundofix by Doubleclicking on it, then point your mouse to the white box
above the buttons and right click, then click on Add More Files. When the
next window opens, copy and paste the files into the boxes and click on Add
File(s), then click on Close Window. Then click Remove Vundo.

4) Open HijackThis and choose "Do a system scan only" then check the box in front of these line items:

O3 - Toolbar: Security Toolbar - {11A69AE4-FBED-4832-A2BF-45AF82825583} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\zsvhwvqw.dll
O20 - Winlogon Notify: zsvhwvqw - C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\zsvhwvqw.dll

Close all programs but HJT and all browser windows, then click on "Fix Checked"

5) RIGHT Click on Start then click on Explore. Locate and delete these items:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\zsvhwvqw.dll <<< check to make sure this one is gone.

C:\WINDOWS\system32\hcqhyuci.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\zsvhwvqw.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\hkvbxdvr.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\xixevyhn.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\awtsr.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\gebca.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\mlljh.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\ssttr.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\pmkji.dllC:\WINDOWS\system32\ssqpm.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\vtutu.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\sstqr.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\iifgggh.dll

These files were added in the last month and I am 99.9% sure they are Vundo, the Vundofix may remove some of them, but check to be sure they are gone. If you care to check those files for infection, here are three free scans you may use:

6) Run ATF Cleaner

Restart run a new Kaspersky scan since this is no doubt this is a new infection. Post a new HJT log to check also.
