1.5 not so good

Just tried to download it 1.5. Weird multiple start-ups the first time, then wouldn't start correctly after. Finally uninstalled 1.5 twice and re-installed 1.4. Shall wait until there's a new new version of 1.5 before I try again. My laptop is Win98SE with 320MB of RAM and normally runs fine. Been using Spybot at least three years. Know you guys will fix this. Thanks.

We already have located the startup problems in Spybot S&D version 1.5 and fixed it:

Please store the two containing files (spybotsd.exe and domains.sbs) in your Spybot folder.
Normally it is located here:
C:\Program Files\Spybot - Search & Destroy

The spybotsd.exe belongs to this path:
C:\Program Files\Spybot - Search & Destroy
The domains.sbs belongs to this one:
C:\Program Files\Spybot - Search & Destroy\Includes

If you are asked if you want to override this files enter yes - this will make the changes.

Loading S&D

The 'fix' appears not to work - error reported. Great delay and several double clicks required to load S&D. New Fix? Also stuffed up McAfee Internet Security Suite 8 which was left unfixable. Have deleted McAfee to rely on Windows firewall. CPU 3.8 G + 1G of mem on XP Home. Also some new 'finds' that wont fix???

A little bit information would be great instead of just "it don't work".
Which error message do you get exactly?
And which findings can't be fixed?

Thanks to helpful Replies from the Spybot team, I re-loaded 1.5.15 and then subbed the .exe. and .dll for 1.5.16 and it's working. HOWEVER, now my SpywareBlaster hangs when it tries to update the Protections for Mozilla/Firefox. Never happened before. (SpywareBlaster updates IE and Restricted Sites fast, then hangs on the automatic third update progress bar for Mozilla/Firefox.) Any ideas? Thanks again.

Error 404 - "Not Found" + a sentence in German.

SS&D cant 'fix' MS Direct Input + most recent appli. Hope this helps. Tech Chat with McAfee said that Spyware Blaster should not be run with McAfee although SS&D recommends it, and SS&D Ver 1.5 deleted some of the McAfee residual files not removed from its uninstall. McAfee Internet Security Suite V8. hope this helps - thought everyone who clicked the link got the same response!
 
I'm using 1.5.14 (had to guess at the last 2 numbers)

Startup time is slow, even after updating as shown here. Also, immunize is painfully slow compared to 1.4.

Is it just me, or is anyone else having the same issue?

It was v1.5.1.15 and was spiking my processor usage to 99% regularly. I've since upgraded to v1.5.1.16 and it has improved.

It's still a little slow starting up but it seems better overall when compared to the prior version.
