Encountered and terminated RegCleanr in C:\PROGRAM FILES\REGCLEANER\REGCLEANR.EXE!

This Was Antivir Removal Regcleanr
T-timer broke the desktop shortcut without asking

I also have MS RegClean installed (w98) no problem

Are we having confusion with C-Net again?

wyrmrider:

Check out the following thread:
Although no one reported TeaTimer terminating "Regcleanr.exe" there seems to be a similarity in the name "RegCleanr" in that thread and your problem with TeaTimer.

Although dude2010 originally reported a problem with a detection for "Regcleaner" (thread title "Regcleaner - parasite/virus?!", they later indicated that the actual detection was for "RegCleanr":

Originally:

… it defined my Regcleaner …
They later indicated that actual detection was for "RegCleanr":

To remove RegCleaner from the SB's parasite-detection-list:
1. Switch SB to Advanced Mode
2. Click on "Settings" (drop-down menu on your left)
3. Choose "Ignore products"
4. Find and activate "RegCleanr"
MisterW has indicated:

…If you are talking about RegCleaner by Jouni Vuorio: It is a false positive and will be fixed with our next update schedules for Wednesday. …
There is a possibility that your thread and the one I cited are related to the same misidentification of "RegCleaner by Jouni Vuorio" as a problem.

I can confirm that. As MisterW also stated, this will be fixed with the next updated.
Somehow I got the impression that there are at least a dozen apps named "Registry cleaner" or very similar

Thanks yodama, MD and others
I'll download and test the two apps Friday
